Music is powerful. It is part of every culture. Music lifts us. Music captivates us. Music connects us. Beethoven, Bach, Elton John, 50 Cent, Norah Jones – like them or not – they have the ability to inspire us and bond us together. As Symphony League of Beaumont (SLB) members we are bound together by music and mission. Our mission is supporting and promoting the growth of the Symphony of Southeast Texas (SOST). How fortunate are we to be the benefactors of such an amazing, world class symphony?! We should not only work together to support it, we should covet it. I encourage you to attend the many SOST concerts in the upcoming season. I promise you will be thrilled and entertained. The SOST needs our personal financial support and the support of the League now more than ever. With continued commitment to this mission we can ensure the long-term sustainability of the SOST and share the gift of music with future generations. Every concert you attend, every dollar you donate, and every hour you volunteer helps to keep the music playing in our community.
As we begin preparing for the 2023-2024 Symphony season, I am honored to step into the role of President and further the objectives of the League and all the extraordinary women who have served before me. I am inspired by their contributions and honored to be a part of the legacy they helped mold.
Another season brings an opportunity to renew your dedication by supporting our programs and becoming involved. Find your passion and reach out to one of our many VP’s or committee chairs. They love willing eager hands and smiling faces. Whether you want to run things or just do a small part, I invite you to get involved and make your mark. I guarantee you will be delightfully challenged.
A special thank you to all who have been working on events to educate, fundraise, advance membership, foster relationships, and engage volunteers. I am always awed by the energy and leadership of our many volunteers. They are some of the most enthusiastic, successful members in our community. I look forward to working with each of you on this journey. When we work towards the same goals and mission, we make beautiful music together.
